Mintlify alternative
Mintlify is for the docs your customers read. VizRepo is for the docs your team needs.
If you publish an API and want a beautiful public docs site, Mintlify is a strong choice. If your problem is that nobody inside the company knows how the system works any more, that is a different job.
Two different jobs
- Public developer docs: written by you, for customers, polished and branded. Mintlify's home turf.
- Internal engineering docs: how the payment flow works, which endpoint writes which table, what changed last week. Nobody has time to write these, which is why VizRepo generates them.
What VizRepo does that a docs platform does not
- Writes the documentation itself by reading the code behind every endpoint.
- Verifies every file it cites against your repository.
- Re-documents only what changed when a pull request is merged, and logs what changed.
- Pushes the result into Notion, Confluence or your wiki, so there is no new site to maintain.
- Explains business rules in plain language for product and support.
Use them together
They do not compete for the same page. Keep your public API reference where it is. Use VizRepo so the people building that API have an accurate picture of what is behind it.

Questions
- Can VizRepo publish a public docs site?
- You can share a read-only link to a project's documentation, but VizRepo is not a branded public docs platform. For that, a tool like Mintlify is the better fit.
- Does VizRepo generate an OpenAPI file?
- Yes. Detected endpoints can be exported as OpenAPI, which you can feed into your public docs tool.
- We already write internal docs in Notion. Why change?
- You do not have to. VizRepo writes into Notion and keeps those pages current, so the pages your team wrote by hand stay next to pages that never go stale.
Try it on your own repository
